My Dental Agency Is One of Tampa Bay’s Best Places to Work — Again!
Every year, the Tampa Bay Business Journal (TBBJ) publishes a list of local companies raising the bar for workplace culture, and for the third time, My Dental Agency is on it! Being honored as one of Tampa’s Best Places to Work is an incredible accomplishment. But earning a spot on the list for three years is a testament to our commitment to supporting our team, and, by extension, our clients.
According to the TBBJ, “The best workplaces are those that combine performance expectations with humanity, offering clarity, stability and a genuine sense of purpose.” MDA lives by that philosophy. We firmly believe that when you take care of your people, they will give you their best. It’s this core belief that has allowed us to build such a dedicated and compassionate team.
Making the List
Earning this badge of honor isn’t a popularity contest or a paid sponsorship but a process driven entirely by the employees. Every fall, employees across the Tampa Bay area nominate their companies. Next, team members complete an anonymous survey that measures multiple key cultural indicators, such as:
- Team effectiveness
- Alignment with goals
- Trust in co-workers
- Manager effectiveness
- Trust in senior leaders
- Feeling valued
- Work engagement
- People practices
Our Secret Sauce
At MDA, we like to hire heart as well as talent. While we always look for skilled people to join our team, character matters more in our hiring process. We value a strong work ethic and look for people who will show up consistently, follow through on their promises, and take pride in doing their best work.
Because we want to understand a candidate’s character, our interview process is more conversational. We focus on getting to know how they think, what motivates them, and what they need to thrive at work. This approach gives us an honest, accurate picture of who someone is before they join the team, and it has certainly paid off.
Making the TBBJ Best Places to Work list is no easy feat. Out of the tens of thousands of employers in the Tampa Bay region, only about 500 companies have been honored over the last 20 years. To even be considered, a company must have a highly engaged workforce willing to step up, nominate the business, and have at least 10 employees complete the survey.

While we’re proud to have made the list for a third time, the real reward is knowing that our employees think so highly of their workplace. It proves that the culture we are intentionally building makes our people feel valued and inspired to do great things.
