Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to show the people in our lives – even patients – how much we love and appreciate them. No need to rush to the florist or purchase a Whitman’s Sampler, though. Small gestures like the ones below are often all someone needs to know that they matter.
Gotta Love That Email
Send an email to all of your patients to tell them how much you appreciate them. Make it personal; they should know that it is coming directly from you. You could even include a little message about hearts and remind them of how good dental health encourages good heart health and allows them to “heart” the most important people in their lives this Valentine’s Day.
Share the Love on Facebook
Encourage your patients to “share the love” by checking in to your practice, posting a smiling couple picture, or perhaps a selfie in your dental chair. For each post, your practice could donate X amount to a local charity. If you don’t have a local charity, perhaps select an organization that fits the Valentine’s Day theme (such as the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women). To keep people motivated and apprised of your progress, your team could use Facebook Live a few times throughout the day to update your followers on how much money their posts have raised.
Loving that Face-to-Face Interaction
Surprise all of the patients who come to see you on February 13th and 14th with a small gift. Encourage them to take a picture with you or your team (with their gift, of course) then share it on Facebook and tag your practice. This will give you an opportunity to show their friends and family how much you value your patients.
Love in the Afternoon
Invite your patients – scheduled or not – to stop by for a heart healthy “lunch-n-learn” where they can enjoy a meal while you or your team educate them about dental health. There is no need for you to start a sandwich assembly line, though. Local chefs who are searching for ways to promote their restaurant might be willing to donate their time. If not, local high schools often have culinary programs with students who are eager to gain experience preparing food for and serving large groups of people. Promote your event online, but don’t forget to ask patients to RSVP – they won’t “feel the love” if you run out of food before they show up.
These are only a few ways for you to show your patients some love! With a little help from the loved ones in your office, you can pull off your “love campaign” without a single hitch.
